LUX Property Group Eyes Landmark Eco Resort and Convention Centre for Indonesia’s New Capital

LUX Property Group has announced it is exploring plans to develop an eco resort and convention centre in Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, with a vision of creating one of the city’s premier tourism and business destinations.

Following a recent visit to Nusantara, the company said it believes the rapidly developing capital presents an opportunity for private investment in world-class hospitality and conference facilities.

A key feature of the proposal would be a spectacular man-made beach and lagoon-style swimming pool inspired by the iconic South Bank Parklands in Brisbane, creating a unique recreational attraction for both visitors and residents.

The proposed development would also include a convention and exhibition centre capable of hosting government events, international conferences, corporate conventions, business forums, weddings and exhibitions.

LUX Property Group said the project is designed to complement Nusantara’s vision of becoming a global city while supporting Indonesia’s growing meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry.

The company noted that it is already progressing plans for a convention centre as part of its own master-planned mini city, Nesara Bay City in South Lombok. That facility is intended to service conferences, corporate events, exhibitions and weddings for the region.

Building on that experience, LUX Property Group believes Nusantara presents an opportunity for a significantly larger convention and exhibition centre capable of hosting major Indonesian and international events.

“Our vision is to create far more than just another hotel,” a LUX Property Group spokesperson said.

“We see an opportunity to develop an eco resort that becomes one of Nusantara’s signature attractions, combining luxury accommodation with a beautiful beach-style lagoon, extensive leisure facilities and a modern convention centre capable of attracting major national and international events.”

The proposed resort would feature environmentally conscious architecture designed to blend with the surrounding landscape, extensive gardens, wellness facilities, restaurants and recreational amenities centred around the lagoon-style beach attraction.

According to publicly available information, Nusantara’s development has primarily focused on government buildings, residential precincts, transport infrastructure and public facilities, with no major purpose-built convention and exhibition centre yet publicly identified as a completed landmark project. This creates an opportunity for private sector investment to help establish the city’s business tourism infrastructure.

LUX Property Group said it intends to engage with the Nusantara Capital Authority to discuss the proposal and explore opportunities to contribute to the long-term development of Indonesia’s new capital.

If realised, the project would complement the company’s growing Indonesian portfolio, which includes Nesara Bay City in South Lombok and its hospitality developments across Bali, while positioning Nusantara as an emerging destination for conferences, conventions and international business events.
